The tale of the underdog is usually one birthed out of struggle and despair taking place in the neglected projects of the world. Seldom seen is the story of a born first place contender rising out of the slums. But that is exactly what Jose Guapo is, your not so typical story. A young phenom hailing from Atlanta, GA.’s zone 3, Jose Guapo is not unfamiliar to adversity, nor is he a victim of circumstance.
Not finding his musical niche until the ripe age of 15, he found himself with a hit song on the radio “Patna Dem” that exposed him to a rockstyle lifestyle he fit comfortably in. Aware of his budding potential, the young rapper took to the studio with a newly ignited hunger and a dedication to his craft. Knocking out mixtapes such as Money Affiliated, Jose’s World, Cash Talk Pt 1 and Cash Talk Pt 2, he watched his fan base increase. “It’s God first, family second, and fans third”, says a humble Jose Guapo while reflecting on what matters, “It’s a blessing to be appreciated for what you do and have a reason to take music seriously. I really rock with my fans more than you could ever know”.
Signed to Street Execs Management, the same management company of Travis Porter and 2 Chainz, it would be an understatement to say he is deserving of the endeavors he is now embarking on. With his own language “Guaponese” catching on to the masses, Jose Guapo is nothing short of innovative and filling a void in hip hop. Tupac, his greatest inspiration summarized Jose Guapo best when he said, “Driven by my ambitions, desire higher positions, so I proceed to make G’s, eternally and my mission is to be more than just a rap musician the elevation of today’s generation, if I can make ‘em listen”. Jose Gaupo is never burdened by performance jitters before blazing the stage, he knows it’s element and where he belongs. With a fan base itching for every track he releases, radio stations happy to hit play on his songs, and dh’s anticipating to add him into their set on the regular, Jose Guapo is undoubtedly a new voice for his generation. “They can’t help but to feel me if they’re real”, states Guapo when asked about his music’s impact on fans, “They can relate, turn up, or look for another artist because I just speak what I feel. I’m just authentic”.
